Who We Are

We are a Canadian-based organization working with a powerful collective of partners to build a new model for sustainable investment in feminist movements globally. Every day, we reach across sectors, borders, and industries to ensure that meaningful resourcesand powerflow to women’s rights organizations and feminist movements everywhere.

What We Do

Inspired by the radical ambition of feminist movements, we are building the largest self-sustaining funds for gender equality in the world. At the Equality Fund, we combine gender-lens investing, bold government funding, and powerful, multi-sector philanthropy to unlock new capital for feminist movements globally.

The Government of Canada awarded the Equality Fund with an historic $300 million contribution to build a new global funding mechanism and leverage more resources for gender equality around the world. These funds will be invested and paired with an ambitious program to leverage philanthropic and bilateral donor support to create a long-term and self-sustaining source of funding for women’s rights organizations and movements in developing countries.

Meet Our Grantee Partners

While the revolutionary work of our grantee partners takes many different forms in many different places, it has common roots: a fierce refusal to accept the status quo; deep trust in local leadership, cultures, and potential; and a fearless determination to unleash the inherent power of girls, women, and non-binary people everywhere.
